Bowhunting.com Pro Staff member Brady Scheffler harvested this monster 199 2/8" typical in Nothern Illinois on the morning of October 26, 2012 while filming himself for the online show Bowhunt or Die.

According to Brady, he was out scouting several days before and went into an area where nobody had hunted for a few years.  Upon entering the area Brady found a considerable amount of fresh sign including a bunch of huge rubs.  He immediately knew he was in a big buck's core area and hung a Lone Wolf stand to hunt later that week.

On his first morning in the stand the giant whitetail came by just after first light, and Brady was waiting for him.  With the camera rolling Brady put an NAP Hellrazor through is boiler room at 20 yards!  The buck ran off a short distance and toppled over within sight of the lucky hunter's stand.

Brady immediately spun the camera around on himself to do an interview and was so excited he literally couldn't speak!  After composing himself he climbed down from the stand to retrieve his trophy, which rough scores an amazing 199 2/8" as a typical!  Without question, this buck will be one of the top typical whitetails harvested with a bow this year, both in Illinois and in the country.

Bowhunting.com wants to wish a huge congratulations to Brady on the buck of a lifetime!  Keep an eye on upcoming episodes of Bowhunt or Die as we'll be bringing you the exclusive interviews and hunt for this giant Illinois typical.

Although Brady had no idea he was in the area, this buck was well known to several local hunters who had been getting trail camera pictures of him for several years.  Below is a picture of the giant taken on a nearby farm in 2011.  As you can see, the buck had a giant split G2 on his right side in 2011, which he didn't have in 2012.
